(Chapter 20)
Before Jordan lays a hand on anyone again, I think that Gerald is going to fight Jordan. Gerald is the man of the house not Jordan. Jordan is a weak little boy not, he is not a man. I think that Jordan will learn his lesson from Gerald. I am glad that Monique finally got some sense into her head.

Chapter 19
(Chapter 19)
I think that Angel is growing up to become a strong and independent young lady. And i think that she gets that strength from Gerald. I also think that things are going to get worse. Those bad nightmares at night, along with the painful memories. I still don't trust Jordan, was is he up to?

Chapter 18
(Chapter 18)
Honestly, i feel sorry for the simple fact of that Monique got hit by a car. Just because i am suppose to care about people, it's God's word in the Bible. But, in my way, i don't care. Because of the bad things that she has done. I can't care for anyone who does not care for their selves. And i am pretty sure that no one is going to want to care about anyone who does not take care or stand up for their children. Maybe when shes in the hospital she would think about how to make things better. For not only herself, but for her children as well. The only people i feel sorry for is Angel and Gerald. Because if Monique does not make it, then Jordan is all they have.

(Chapter 17)
I am so happy for Angel, she made the house go down. Along with her beautiful dance movements. When i read that Jordan did not come to Angel's recital. I was happy, because i had the feeling that if he did come. Then Angel would not be able to perform her best. Those painful memories would have come to her mind. But, yet again Jordan is Angel's father. And i think that if he changed like he said he did. Then as a father, he should have been there to support his daughter.

Chapter 16
Wow! Just when Gerald and Angel starts to become happy. Jordan gets out of jail. I can't believe this i am speechless. I don't even know what to say. What's going to happen now, (war) perhaps.

(Chapter 15)
Dancing makes Angel happy. But, hanging out with: B.J, Andy, Joe, Rob, and Tyrone makes Gerald happy. Being with them makes him feel like he can be himself. It makes him feel like he can breathe freely without any problems going through his head. No painful memories, just him enjoying himself.

Chapter 14
(Chapter 14)
Angel found something that makes her happy, to dance. It seems like Angel and i have two things in common. A passion for dancing, and the way how we trust people. She loves to dance, and she wants to take a dancing class. And Gerald tells her that he will get her that class. Only, if Monique said no. Now, to me Gerald is being a father, and a good big brother towards Angel. He said that he would basically get a job in order to take care of her. And he's very protective of her. Yes, he should look after his sister as a brother, but not as her father. That's Jordan's job!

Chapter 12
(Chapter 12)
Before the cops came into Gerald's house. I'm sorry to say this, but Jordan is a little boy. He is not a man. He slaps and yells at almost everyone when things are not done his way. He torches that poor girl Angel. He knows that shes afraid of him. He knows that she does not like to play "the bad games". Angel has nightmares at night, tossing and turning in the bed. Jordan is a manipulative boy. He knows that Angel has no control over him. Jordan told Angel that, "if you tell then I'll kill that cat, and your mama will put you outside in the snow." It's obvious that Jordan is a boy and not a man.

Chapter 11
(Chapter 11)
Well, I'm glad that Gerald has Mr. Washington to feel comfortable with. I'm glad that Gerald told Mr. Washington about what was going on at home. I think that Jordan is going to go to jail for a long time. And then, Angel will be happy. But, i think that Jordan will come back from jail. And hurt not only Angel and Gerald, but Monique too.

Chapter 10
(Chapter 10)
Jordan is an idiot. Lord i know that i'm wrong to say this about an adult, but i is true. Why would Jordan put Angel's cat in the oven? I know that he did not turn it on, but dang. Jordan is a real fool.

Chapter 9
(Chapter 9)
I am happy that Angel was happy to get her kitten. But, i knew that the happiness would not last long. Monique does not stand up for not only herself, but for her own children. I think that Angel is never going to have the feeling of relief, for as long as Jordan is in the same house with her.

Chapter 8
(Chapter 8)
To find out that Monique is afraid of Jordan, that is understandable. Because if i were her, i would have been scared too. But, the only thing that would help me stay strong. Is the simple fact of knowing that my children comes first. If something were to happen to my kids. I would at least try to do something about it, unlike Monique.

chapter 7
(Chapter 7)
I feel that when Gerald said that things would never be the same, i agreed. When i read that Aunt Queen died, i cried. My heart ached, and i understood what Gerald was feeling. Another reason why i feel this way, is because of Angel. Gerald is probley feeling that his sister is his responsibility. He knows that his mother and Jordan is not going to take good enough care of Angel. And so, it's his job to look after her. My next reason based on why i feel this way is because, nothing is ever the same when a loved one dies. Which leads me to my last reason, Gerald is not happy with his mother. But, he was happy with Aunt Queen. And so for her not to be breathing. I'm pretty sure that Gerald is confused and hurt at the same time. His mother and Angel is all he has left.

Chapter 6
(Chapter 6)
When Jordan and Monique left from Aunt Queen's house. In the book, it says that Angel did not even bother to look up. Aunt Queen saw that Angel needed some serious mothering. Now to me, i think that only a very good parent would see that a child needs not only love, but good mothering. Aunt Queen saw that Angel needs love and gave it to her. Aunt Queen saw that Angel needs good mothering, and she gave it to her. Aunt Queen picked up Angel and sat her on her lap. Giving Angel a warm hug. That caused Angel to loosen up and not only talk to but to trust her. Now, that's a good parent who shows good love.

Chapter 5
(Chapter 5)
In this chapter, Gerald sees: Monique, Angel, and Jordan. I think that when he first saw Jordan, he knew from his gut that he was trouble. When Gerald saw Monique, i knew that those painful memories from the past came to his mind. But when he saw Angel, i think he wondered who she was. In fact, i think he wondered why did she have on those black stockings in the heat. My prediction is that she is getting abused. By who, i don't know. But later on that day, Gerald was told that Angel is his sister. I am pretty sure that he felt that his mother have not changed. And i know that he felt that Jordan was bad news. So i think that Gerald feels that someone has to protect Angel, and it's going to be him.

Chapter 4
(Chapter 4)
In this chapter, Aunt Queen talked to Gerald about his mother. She told him that his mother is going to be away for quit some time. Gerald's mother is a woman who happens to be on drugs. Honestly, i don't know how she was even able to take care of the boy for three years. He probley barely had any meat on his bones. Because she was feeding him simple stuff. Like two cookies and one apple. What's wrong with this lady? She really does have some issues. Matter fact, i could tell that she is on drugs. She really needs some help, seriously!

Chapter 3
(Chapter 3)
Gerald moves in with his Aunt Queen. And it is not all good. For example, Aunt Queen has to handle situations in a wheel chair. There were times where there was not any heat on in her house. But, she knows how to handle situations in a wheel chair, because of experience. I think that Aunt Queen is a very strong and independent woman.

Chapter 2
(Chapter 2)
Gerald was taken to child services. And they said that it would take at least a day or two just for a family member to come and get him. But Gerald's Aunt proved them wrong, and came as soon as she heard about the fire. Aunt Queen came to take care of him, without anyone asking her to. That shows me that she feels that family, is family. And she will do her best to help her family no matter what. Aunt Queen seemed to be someone who keeps her word. I believe that she will take good care of Gerald. I also believe that he will finally experience someone who loves him. Someone who actually cares. Someone who shows him that they care for him.

Chapter 1
(Chapter 1)
In this chapter, Gerald is three years old. And he was caught playing with the fire from his mother's lighter. I have came to an understanding of realizing that his mother is very abusive. She held his hand over the fire, just to teach him a lesson. But Gerald did not learn his lesson. He played with his mother's lighter, and the curtain caught on fire. Which caused the house to catch on fire. If the mother had never left the three year old boy at home alone, then it never would have happened. The poor boy was board. And so to entertain his self. He found something to keep him busy, which was to play with his mother's lighter.
